WELCOME TO THE
'S WEBSITE
Monday August 16th - 2010 :
Last thursday we were in St Vincent de Tyrosse for our customary yearly rendez-vous!
The ideal weather, the public of connaisseurs that had come many and enthusiastic, combined, with our band of rider friends at the ready (Edgar Torronteras, José Miralles, Taka Higashino , Wiley Fullmer and Jey Rouanet...of course) , to make the event the good humoured success it always is...In this emulating atmosphere of friendly rivalry it is no surprise the tricks speedily got bigger and bigger...Charles gave us more of his double grabs flips and Tom pushed his turn downs and whips further and further.
Prowess and laughter...who could ask for anything more!!!
On the morrow we took "La Tremblade" in our stride...the whole team except for our two spanish friends migrated northward to give two shows topped by multiple fireworks and hosted by La Tremblade's SX. The public was numerous and reactive and we kept up our level and pace of performance.
Our next joust will take place in Landrévarzec (29), for the "Finist'air show" on August 29th, hope to see many of you there!
Monday July 19th 2010 : Mayorca/ Spain
Jey's Fete barely finished, Charles had to fly off to Spain bound for Mayorca and it's amazing arenas.
Under the blazing sunshine and near to unbearable heat he had to join Eigo Sato, Dany Torres and José Miralles among others for a ride...instead of quietly sipping cocktails under a shady tree!
We'll be back soon to relate our further adventures!
July 16th 2010 :
Jey's fete
All the conditions were right on D day for a perfect fete at Jey's.
Bize Minervois is an exceptional site that warrants a detour any day of the year...but on that particular auspicious day it was just amazing for the spectators looking down from the bridge onto the riders below...who were riding and landing in the bed of the river!
What a fabulous set-up!...The balmy heat and merciful lack of wind also contributed to make this...a perfect day!
Bravo Jey!
Regarding the atmosphere that night...
Back to the riding! Three series of amazing jumps with Trial in between...it was an amazing show!
Just a little fright when Julien Dupont sustained a bad fall on the Trial...but no injury, thank god!

Thanks a mil Jey for your amazing welcome and this inimitable fete that ended up...in style at the village ball!
Wednesday June 30th 2010:
A million thanks to BPM (Eigo Sato's artist friend) who designed Charly's new helmet specially for him. |
Come ye all from far and wide! To attend this amazing day! Don't mind Jey's depressed looks on the poster...It should be a laugh with a capital L...we're counting on you! |
Wednesday June 16th 2010:
We've had an excruciating week! Rain storm after rain storm has been blotting our horizon and all our training prospects !
Dédé, Jey and Chris are constantly scrutinizing the heavens but to no avail !
Thank god we can take it out on the waves and spend our energy and frustration getting wrecked in the Atlantic Ocean! Exhausting but fun !
As no hope of improvement is in sight everyone is heading back to their respective home base (Spain, UK etc...) but we'll be posting a few snaps of this memorable gathering on the gallery nevertheless !
Thursday June 10th 2010
Andre Villa has been staying with us for the last few days and Chris Birch (UK) just made it yesterday...well in time to show off his surfing abilities against our own! We are quite proud of our teams achievements in that respect. Jey is here too of course and weather and waves allowing we still find time to do some FMX practice together!...Jey ended up on the ground the other day but no harm done!
Charly is getting back to it slowly, his shoulder must be eased back into action little by little in order to give the muscle graft a chance...so he is still working with a weak shoulder at the moment, but back in the saddle nevertheless!
Tom is working on his wip...hoping to successfully rival the Top Gun in the near future.
Our dear friend Thierry Dufour (above left) has just put his boots back on after a 3 year break! The lure of the ramp got too much for him and he finally succumbed! Watch out Steph (Bucheton) and long live the Fillots!
Wednesday May 5th 2010 :
Here is what happens when you let Tom loose at Dédé Villa's in Spain with Jey and Jeff Muguet...give those guys the tools and they'll come up with anything in matters of haircut...and the more the wind keeps them on land, the more hair-raising the result...wouldn't you say!
Et voilà le travail !
Tuesday May 4th :
It's been a long time coming but Jey has finally started to revamp his website! We like what we can see already and wish him lots of success and eager web browsers!
Friday april 29th 2010 :
We're very glad to learn that Daisuke Suzuki our very cool japanese rider pal is on the Gizeh rider list for the next lap of the Redbull Xfithers on May the 14th! Well done and best of luck to you Daice...Show them what you can do and wow them with your incomparably creative "jap" style...but above all, have fun!
Monday april 26th 2010 :
Charles will be allowed to leave the hospital today, but will have to wait 6 more weeks to get back on the bike.
This operation was needed to give Charly's shoulder a chance to function completely again. 10cm of the nerve that triggers the deltoid shoulder muscle was cut and the surgeon had to use about 30cm off his calf nerve to graft it onto the shoulder. There is an 80% success rate on this delicate kind of operation and it will take 8 to 12 months to know for sure if the transplant has worked out.
A bientot !
Saturday April 24th, 2010
Charles is doing well after friday's operation...but he's already rearing to go!
More news on monday after the surgeon's verdict. What we know so far is that they took a bit off his leg and used it in his shoulder ??
See you on Monday !
Tuesday April 20th :
MEXICO
Home at last!...Thanks to the Icelandic volcanoe, the ways and means of getting back have had to be many !...Finding a plane that flew was step 1!...from Mexico to Guatemala...to Panama...To Spain !...and here we are, back at long last...It only required to keep one's cool and a good dose of patience!
Mexico is never a simple event as far as tuning is concerned...one has to go by trial and error to find the formula that will enable the engine to cope with the combined influences of the altitude (2700m), pollution and humid heat of the place. And each rider had some hair-tearing moments of his own !
The event was unfortunately cut short by torrential rains that made the ramps too slippery for the competition to go on. It brought me back to my first ever Redbull participation in 2007 in Dublin !
The rule in those cases applies and so does the last classification...this means that the qualification run's classification is the final one for this event.
Dédé was first and so wins the event, Bravo and well done !
I missed my last jump and took the 9th position in the final scores, not so far from the top as it would seem as far as score points are concerned. It was an enormous challenge as we had to use all the ramps and space, especially the three kickers (three steep ramps positioned very close to each other) and the two 23m ramps (rarely used).
But all in all I enjoyed it immensely. Riding with such an array of top level riders is such a boost !
Here is my qualification run:
