WELCOME TO THE   'S WEBSITE

Friday December 30th, 2011

The new MX Magazine is a must... the cover speaks for itself, and you can read this unmissable "meeting with Charles" !

It's a great interview, despite the misquote concerning Thomas...who as we all know is in no way "scared " of a thing...Charles only wanted to point out the difference between their two ways of facing a challenge...contrasting his own dare devil risk taking attitude with Tom's more clear headed risk assessment method which coupled with his iron will determination also makes for a great winning combination.

Talk to you all next year !

With our very best wishes for 2012,

Thursday December 22nd, 2011

As per Albert Meslay's quote :
Here is a beautiful brain that looks
"very clean, smooth and white, without a trace of grey matter"...!!

It's only Charles's last IRM, showing to our immense relief and
happiness that everything is all right!

Charly is really getting there and is little by little going to tread the way to the training tracks again.

Charles gives detailed news in the January 2012 edition of MX MAGAZINE.

As this very busy year for Charles and Tom is drawing to a close,The Brother's trip team is wishing you a Merry Xmas and a happy new year.

Talk to you next year!

Monday november 7th, 2011 :   R.I.P Jim Mc Neil

A terrible news, another unbearable loss.
A splendid guy, someone we loved.
Everytime we rode with him, it was pure happiness!

The incredible level of riding you imposed was constantly pulling us higher...and if we ever asked your advice on huge tricks, you sometimes couldn't understand what the problem was...it came all so natural and seemed to simple to you!...you just used to give us one of your big smiles and a little shrug of the shoulder..

You were always so respectful of your fellow riders...and that is how we will remember you and keep you in our hearts forever.

Our sport is so cruel, but we shall go on daring and riding hard for we know that when you are watching us from above, you will want no second best!

All our thoughts and prayers are with your family and friends.
See you again one day,
Bye man !

Tuesday November 1st 2011 :

Our Parisian weekend is over....it has left us tired but with our hearts full of joy!

As much as we know in advance that Bercy will be a crazy boost with a high voltage public eager to spur us on day by day... we cannot but wonder at the way each year seems to top the one before as far as enthousiastic decibels are concerned...it seems this very special public comes ever more to the boil in this very special place!

Thanks to you all : Public, Editions Larivière, JLFO, and the amazing team of volunteers that make this amazing french event possible.

Dany Torres and Taka Higashino showed their most daring tricks,
Edgar Torronteras, always the perfect showman  gave us a great beat box demo.
Jey Rouanet and Josh Sheehan also participated heavily in making this a top-level event.
But most of all, the whole team was amazed at the unbelieveable athmosphere that reigned in this... our national arena!

Charles got a public ovation when he announced that he may very well be back!?

And to top it all, a great champion paid us a most appreciated visit : Camille Lacourt

A bientôt !

Monday october 24th 2011 :

Bercy's coming up in 4 days, the pressure is mounting!

Sorry for the short-cut on Barcelona, which is a total shame as it was such a great event: high level competition, amazing riders and a warm latin welcome!...but needs must as preparations are now at their heigth!

See you soon in Bercy !

Friday  Octobrer 14th 2011 :

In Front with Charles Pagès "My hard and long way to recovery to get back on my bike".A Film by Michel Never, you can watch it in video gallery.

Tuesday Octobrer 11th 2011 :

Another great weekend for a well-oiled home-run event: despite the capricious weather the "DC All In Show" held all its promiss!

Friday evening, Hossegor's Landais square was filled to the brim with expectant fans ready for a fabulous international line-up: Kelly Bolton - Mike Clarke - Pat Guimez - Josh Stead - Yannick Granieri in BMX  and Dany Torres - Taka Higashino - Libor Podmol et Tom in FMX....when an unwelcome rain came pouring down and killed off all hope of a demonstration for the night!

In consequence the show had to be postponed to the morrow, which unfortunately ruled out the BMX part (as the riders had a prior engagement planned for the saturday).

The weather conditions remained hard for the FMX riders who had to contend not with wind for once but with the rain and humidity which so beset the technical organization side of the event that the riders had to go for it without any chance of training trials or lighting check prior to the show!

But in spite of the hardship, the quality of the show and the  warmth of the faithfull audience made it an event to remember!

Thanks to Frédéric Egli for the photos.

A bientôt !

Sunday Octobre 2nd 2011 :

Tom is now in Canada.

What a night...What a show...The 45 000 strong public assembled in the huge Olympic Stadium was full of enthusiasm to welcome the riders: Ben Milot, Morgan Kaliszuk, the American Brody Wilson and  Adam Jones.

But despite the very high level of performance imposed by Brody Wilson and  Adam Jones,  the canadian public made up its own mind and decided that the top of the podium belonged to Tom.

Talk soon !

Wednesday September 28th 2011 :

Last weekend Tom was in Zurick , Switzerland to take part in the biggest european show, the famous "Freestyle CH."

Once more a mad show, a great athmosphere, a huge public (35 000 spectators), a great diversity of sports present (Freeski - Snowboard - Skateboard - BMX - FMX) each with its assortment of star players!...a huge infrastructure...and magnificent weather...who could ask for anything more...this is the stuff dreams and great events are made of!

The  FMX performers who were joining Tom and his pal Jey Rouanet were Petr Pilat, Maikel Melero, Dany Torres and Mat Rebeau on his home turf.

Dany Torres invincible once more continues on his amazing run and wins the swiss trophy  in the wake of his RedbullXfighters victory. Maikel Melero had a bad fall, but no heavy injury resulted. As for Tom, he finishes in second place!..

See you soon !

Tuesday August  29th, 2011 :

This year's "Finist'Air show" is over... looks like we're going to have to enlist a bass player this time!

The Breton sun shone on the 2011 edition of the  "Finist'Air Show" in Briec. As for every preceding year the event was extremely well attended and the public had come numerous and full of enthusiasm to cheer the many stars who graced the event. It was indeed an exceptional and impressive gathering in all the disciplines represented: BMX, FMX and quad!..all the ingredients for a wonderful day!

In BMX Jaie Toohey, Ryan Guettler, Josh Stead straight from Oz, Markus Hampl from Germany, Alejandro Caro from Colombia made a great show alongside the frenchies: Pat Guimez and Thomas Gaudin.

In  FMX, the impressive track, given the final tuning by Charles and Thierry, here to assist the highly motivated  Finist'air show team, welcomed 8 of the best:  Eigo Sato -  Adam Jones - Destin Cantrel  - Wiley Fullmer -  Mike Mason - Edgar Torronteras - Jérémy Rouanet and Tom.

Tom, with a brillant final "Volt" , won the  Best Trick contest and the prized bass-guitar created by designer Charles Fichou "Soyle" http://www.facebook.com/pages/Soyle-Parts-Designer/121140477923198
just in front of Jey Rouanet who had performed a faultless underflip no hand and Wiley Fullmer, whose crack nac was no less impressive.

Many thanks to Pascal and all his team of volunteers who worked ceaselessly to make of this event the perfect celebration it always is.

Talk soon !

Saturday August 13th, 2011 :

Yesterday we had our anual  "Air Contest" in Saint Vincent de Tyrosse, with once more a dreamy FMX star cast!..All the way from the USA, Mike Mason joined the merry franco-spanish gang comprising Dany Torres, Edgar Torronteras, Maikel Melero, Jey Rouanet and Tom.

Three varied outings for each rider  (solo - duo - tchu tchu etc...) beautifully orchestrated by Seb Billault and compared with style and aplomb by the amazing Francis Magnanou, so completely involved in his art he didn't even seem to notice the lengthy power cut...in any case he didn't let it phase him!

Another lovely event we wouldn't have missed for the world!...however for those of you who couldn't make it, there is always tomorrow's SX Tour in La Tremblade. See you there!

Monday August 1st,  2011 :

Charles is still working assiduously to recuperate and recapture all the necessary skills that will enable him to go back on the bike. He never misses a chance to practice his figures on the ground...Here he is demonstrating a beautiful "tsunami" in front of his own picture on the MOSKOVA billboard at BUD-RACING in Hossegor.

Friday July 29th, 2011 :

The XGames 17 are over, and so is the Best Whip contest. Bravo and congrats to Jeremy Stenberg for his gold medal, Todd Potter for his silver and Jarryd Mac Neil for his bronze.
Tom finishes 5th with 9% of the votes.

Thanks to Stéphan Legrand "Le Big" for the lovely pic...and for those who wish to read some pertinent comments on the contest, click on the link below...

Bye!

Thursday July 28th 2011 :

Tom is sending regular news updates from the US, thanks to michel Never he loaded his luggage, via his facebook page, but here is where he's at so far.

Thursday 21st - Episode 1 :  Thomas is flying to Los Angeles. Once there he takes delivery of his motorbike at Yamaha's as he has to get it ready for the Games.

Why is that ?

The Bike we get delivery of when abroad, is of course a standard model. We then have to personalize it and give it all the extra features that render it identical to the bike we ride with at home. This implies bringing with us all the add-on parts...and a lot of excess baggage as a result !

Personal features and parts :
Handlebars - stabilizer -  triple clamp - suspensions and  shock absorber - airbox - seat - sub frame - sprocket - exhaust and plastic (plates / fender etc.).
The tuning of the carburator depends on many things and varies according to altitude, temperature, fuel composition, etc...So it has to be checked out along with the hardware.
And then we have to customize the bike's esthetics by adding in our own deco kit, sponsor's idents etc...along with our very own special features like super flip levers and footpegs...

Sunday 24th - Episode 2 : Thomas is training at "Maddo's" Robbie Maddison

Thomas went off to the US a few days before the contest in order to get a chance to train on the american ramps. These tend to be flatter than the european ones and need a bit of adaptation to get used to...in order to get the perfectly pushed out whip!

Tuesday 26 th- Epidode 3 :  Thomas is now at Ronnie Renner's where he is joining also "Twitch" Jeremy Stenberg...the training session is turning into a meeting of friends !

Thursday 28th - D Day
For the dye-hard fans, the live event can be followed on ESPN at  5.45 / 6pm Californian time, i.e. 2.45/3am on friday morning here.

see you soon !

Wednesday 20 July 2011 :

Our thoughts are with Mike Metzger, to wish him a good and speedy recovery.
A terrible fall, heavy in consequences for this sublime master of Freestyle.
Although he had slowed down for a while, he still couldn't keep away from the ramps..how we understand him...the FMX passion isn't something one can fully explain or resist...

We are with you dear friend and master,

Courage,
You're the best!

Tuesday July 19th 2011 :

Indeed, "La Kermesse de Jey" is a real event and nearly  7000 spectators were able to testify. The park was installed in the riverbed in Bize-Minervois, in the middle of a beautifull site.

All conditions were met with a perfect weather, warm and without a breath of wind. A live drummer on top and a good organization, so as usual, this event was very successful.

A great team of  BMX riders : Vincent Massardier, Jérémy Granieri, Louis Reboul et Tristan et Mathieu Musso,  we were excited about their trains  Front Flips  and also a great team of  FMX  riders : Daice Suzuki, Jey Rouanet, Thierry Dufourg, Maxime Grégoire and Tom.

Thursday June 16th 2011 :

Last weekend we were in Paris. Great freestylers from all corners of the world were meeting up in the Charlety arena, which was hosting the enormous "Extreme Freestylers show".  It was a moment of pure happiness for the guys, meeting up and giving of their best in stimulating but relatively stressless conditions...as far as performing compared to competing goes.

The cast counted: Nate Adams - Libor Podmol - Remi Bizouard - Mike Mason - Brody Wilson - Chris Birch -  Robbie Adelberg  and Taka Higashino who audaciously rode ahead despite a painfull shoulder and gave us great tricks with a smile!

It was Charles' second outing, and it was a great treat for him to meet the public of true connaisseurs assembled there, as well as his pals and a Francis Magnanou in top form, also the Larivière production team who showed him such kind attention in Bercy... so all in all a lovely reunion time...

Last minute flash news : Tom is stepping in for Edgar Torronteras in Argent sur Sauldre (18) where he will be joining his friends Jey Rouanet and Thierry Dufourg.

Back soon !

Tuesday may 24th, 2011 :

Back from our Barbechat outing! The weather was splendid and the public numerous to cheer us on our way. Nice to be back in the old haunts...our home club and the lads!

Jey, Thierry and myself had great fun riding at this "homely" event organized by Alain Bertret (nicknamed "Le Real Fillot"), who with his kindhearted  amateur team, gave us a truly professional service!

Now for something else that has given me great pleasure!...I have been invited to participate in the "Best Whip" category of the next "X-Games17" in Los Angelès ( 27th to 3st july).

We'll soon be on to you with more details regarding the approaching Paris event (11th June, Stade Charlety): "l'Extrême Freestylers Show "

Talk soon then!

Monday May 16th 2011 :

The San Sébastian "Velodrome"  in Northern Spain gave us "Star Wars" last saturday night!... a war of the tricks between the stars of the BMX/MTB and FMX categories, during the all encompassing "All In Show".

The spanish public complemented by a good number of french fans who had crossed the border "en masse" for the occasion was as warm as ever and enjoyed the show immensely. It was indeed an enjoyable occasion for all concerned, not least for the riders come from every corner of the world. They were all delighted to meet again and eager to sample those ramps and reception platforms of great quality (i.e. a triple FMX ramp and for the BMX/MTB a double ramp positionned 15m up from the ground!).

Eigo Sato was here with his family, sporting a courageous smile despite the trauma of the last few months in Japan, it was so great to see him again. As for Dany Torres and Edgar Torronteras they were injured so unfortunately couldn't attend.
Tom won the Best-Trick with his now famed "Volt" and ends up second of the overall contest behind Andre Villa and in front of Eigo. Andrey Lacondeguy won the BMX / MTB contest with a double back flip of boggling precision.

Next weekend will see a meeting of old friends at "The Real Fillot's" in Barbechat beside Nantes (44). It's back to the old country for Tom, who will perform in his native region alongside Jey Rouanet and Thierry Dufourg.

See you sunday in Barbechat !

Tuesday April 5th, 2011 :

The first good news of the day concerns Charles.
He had his scan check today in order to assess the level of healing of the scars in his brain. The results show a definite progress...The reeducation training continues but with the bonus of knowing our Charly is definitely on the right track!

The second good news concerns Tom.
He is going on with his alternative adventures! It was a suggestion from David Dumain, editor of Moto Journal, that triggered the idea and Yamaha Motor France's Alexandre Kowalski and  José Leloir's support that gave it life...and here is our Tom trying his hand now at motorbike speed track racing!

After taking part in Le Touquet's Enduropale, here he is, due on the starting line of the "Yamaha FZ8 Cup", this weekend on the Pau-Arnos race track!
He actually did a few trial runs today ... See you all on the track to cheer him on this weekend...and for those of you who cannot attend, there will be a full account of that adventure in next week's "Moto Journal"!
