Wednesday March 23rd, 2011 : San José - Costa Rica
12 hours flight later and 7hours jetlag away ...Tom is back from Costa Rica....But what a trip!.. the 20.000 spectator strong national football stadium had been booked out for the previous 2 weeks and the event was beeing transmitted live on national TV!
The Costa-Ricans with their usual cool professionalism produced an awesome "live show", with technical standards up to the very highest and well on par with the biggest world tours.
Tom won both contests with 3 "volts" on the night and one turn down for the best trick...Dany gave us a show stopping record braking final run with a doublegrab-flip performed in full wind!...he was surprisingly only second...we must have paid the judges more!
Anyway, the night was only beginning by then as the last lap of the event (the RedBull party) was where the true winner of the XKnights had to make good...but no one in the athletes' entourage seems to have been able to determine who excelled most on that slippery slope!
Saturday March 19th, 2011 :
Before setting off to Costa-Rica, Tom had made a little detour by the "Ma Chaîne Sport" TV set for an interview with Nate Adams. They were both there to talk about the amazing new show that will take place in Paris at the Stade Charléty on the 11th of June 2011....it is called the Extreme Freestylers Rock 'n' Ride Tour...and you can be sure to hear a lot more about it in the very near future!

Also, a few "RedBull" images with Robbie Maddison at the Pecquencourt Moto Show.

Tuesday March 15th, 2011 :
Tom is off to Latin America tomorrow, with his pals: Dany Torrès, Jey Rouanet and Mikael Melero. They will be participating in the X-Knights in San José, Costa Rica. As per usual, the welcome and cool atmosphere of this very special country (host to 9% of the world's biodiversity and the only nation in the world not to have an army) is going to be a delight to sample ! No doubt the 25000 spectator strong stadium will be packed to the rafters and the contest will be most convivial !

We will of course give a very special thought to our dear friend Jeremy Lusk, whose tragic accident took place here, and keep him in our hearts while we do our best to do him proud.
We will also be sending thoughts of support to our japanese friends Eigo Sato and Daice Suzuki, unable to attend due to the recent traumatic events in Japan. They both live in North-east Japan, the region most affected by the reacent earthquake and Tsunami, and where the damaged nuclear stations continue to pose a serious threat to the local population...so of course the guys have to be on hand to look after their families...We sincerely wish them all the health and courage to cope with these hard times, and send the beautiful Japanese FMX Family all our love and support.
Talk soon,

Monday January 31st, 2011 : Tom at
Full sun, the magnificent northern french coast was looking at its best in the coolness of this lovely wintry morn... 200.000 or 300.000 spectators on site, whatever the actual number, they were all there ready to cheer on at the biggest race in the whole world...a Mecca of sorts...
Francis Magnanou was at the microphone to comment the event...off it went, the 3 hours race kicked off to a start!
Tom having tasted the sand, so to speak at Capbreton's "Ronde Des Sables" last week, was well prepared and made a good start, in the first 40/50 riders...he caught up to the 24th scratch place before the second refueling with an actual 22nd scratch time...but a slight nervousness of the left index on the clutch got the better of his machine and he had abandon the race just before the half-way point...
A very big thank you to our friends:
- at Red Bull France (Olivier / Sophie) and north region (Arnaud / Marie),
- at the 4 star workshop at Holliday Inn,
- Jean Claude Moussé for his kindness and precious advice,
- at Yamaha Motor France: José Leloir / Alexandre Kowalski / Eric De Seynes for their support,
- the great Guillaume "I can find you anything you need in 2 tics" from Drag'on, for his mechanical and logistical support,
- the MC Pecquencourt crew for the highly acurate timing and scores,
- David Hauquier for the right number and enlisting 2 hours before closing time,
- Seb Dassé from Bud Racing for the perfect suspension seetings,
- Thierry from Bud Racing for his "method",
- Jacky Vimond for his excellent coaching
- Bio for the phone connection package,
- the dedicated public and fans all along the race track for their unstinting and enthusiastic support...
The holidays are now over and the priority will again be given to the FMX training...but Tom enjoyed the racing experience so much there are no doubts about it...he'll be back on the starting line of the 2012, 7th Touquet Enduropale!...that's a date!
Tom rode yesterday at La Ronde Des Sables in Hossegor / Capbreton.! He had a bad start and a technical problem prevented his catching up further after he had managed to regain ground to the 23rd place.
(Photo Benjamin Ricard)
Eager to have another go, he has decided, with the encouragement of some top sand pilots, to try his luck in the 6th Le Touquet Enduropale this weekend, sponsored by Yamaha Motor France, Moto-Club of Pecquencourt and Red bull.
We'll confirm all this asap.
It was quite a pity as who was waiting for him at the refueling stand?...none other than the Tony and Thierry dream team, ready for action!
See you !
Monday January 17th 2011:
Tom shall be back with la Ronde Des Sables in Hossegor / Capbreton sunday january 23rd, he will be wearing the number 300 and riding his Yamaha 250 YZ 2 temps. He finished in 35th place there in 2009, and he is going to try his utmost to do better this time. He'll be able to count on his faithful companions Tony and Thierry, who will be on call for all refueling needs and technical assistance. We'll keep you posted on what happened sunday night.
Charles was home to celebrate his 30th birthday with his friends. He took that opportunity to play a little golf, which is a great exercise to improve his movement cohesion. He came up with a good few 160m long swings and later practiced his flips on the trampoline...later again...he also practiced some 360° but this time in the family rallye clio in the opposite field....this as you can imagine did not amuse his mother much!
There is still much progress to be done, but as you can see Charles is on the good path to recovery.
Michel NEVER is back.
